Before Square One. [Pandemic]

How is it going?
        When you’ve had 142,000 people die, threw away the plan for handling a pandemic, shut down the country, crashed the economy, recommended treatments that killed people, spend hours a day watching TV, played golf, tweeting constantly, gave a couple of trillion dollars to the rich, shoved millions to your political supporters, lied to people about testing, lied about available equipment, lied about PPE, claimed it wasn’t your responsibility, lied about saving lives, taken credit for doing such a good job and then reopened the country without a plan you might want to think twice about bringing up the previous administration.

Favs.
        The above is just a partial list. I do have a couple of favorites though. It’s priceless that he complains about Obama not leaving him tests for a virus that didn’t exist yet. Then we have his complaints about the shelves being bare because Obama didn’t leave him anything 31/2 years into his Presidency. On top of that the Republicans turned down Obama’s request for funding supplies. Honestly, a classic Republican move. Then we have his son-in-law taking time off from bringing peace to the Middle East to add to the chaos going on in this country. Didn’t you just love it when he claimed ownership of the supplies? I’m sure others have their own favs.

        President Trump’s comments about then Vice President Biden and President Obama and their handling of the Swine Flu pandemic reminded me of a post I saw on someone else’s timeline supposedly from Rush Limbaugh. He may or may not have said it. I hardly ever trace down something attributed to him. It’s pointless. He’s a bought and paid for stooge who has made himself filthy rich off of the rubes that listen to him. The guy is worth like four hundred million dollars or something like that.
        What got me about this meme is that for the most part it was accurate. It was about President Obama’s handling of the Swine Flu pandemic. President Trump keeps bringing it up as well. Cray!
        The estimate provided in the meme was that 60 million people had it, around a quarter of a million were hospitalized and we did lose 12,500 people in the United States. It’s also correct that the country wasn’t shut down as indicated in the meme. I also remember that most of the press, excluding those like Limbaugh and Trump, did not adversely go after President Obama. In addition it should be noted that the Swine Flu pandemic was smaller. It never got a foothold and established as bad as the current pandemic thanks to President Obama.

        So even though it wasn’t intended the meme actually makes President Obama look good if people are paying attention. They aren’t.
        Why? He handled it. The briefings were honest. Medical professionals handled the response and built an action plan to handle the next one. So, no people didn’t have to stay home and President Obama didn’t crash the economy. He built one. He also handled the Ebola crisis. I think that he handled 3 in all.
        Then citizen Trump complained, as in tweeted, over a hundred times about how he thought the crisis should have been handled and how bad a job President Obama did. It’s ludicrous to compare the two. I’m not sure how effective it is to bring up a success story about the black President in comparison to oneself.

         Where do we go from here?
        There never was a national plan used to deal with the virus though one was desperately needed and is still needed. There were 50 different plans. It was and remains chaos.
        The Administration and Republicans in congress need to put working people first and they have proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that they are simply NOT capable of doing that. They have proved that with the Stimulus Bills that they used to shove millions make that tens of millions to the rich including rich Trump supporters. They are still shoving money to Trump cronies (and most likely to Trump and his family as well).
        Thanks to their ineptitude we aren’t back to square one. The conditions of the pandemic are worse than where we started. So all of the closings were for naught because too many people refused to do something as simple as wear a damn mask. Now we’re even worse off and tens of thousands more people will die that didn’t have to.

Everybody can’t get a test.
        Unlike President Trump’s early promise everybody still can’t get a test. Testing is still inadequate. The virus hasn’t gone away. Practically every metric is worse.
        Shelley and I got COVID-19 tested. It took days to get our results. She got hers 2 days before I got mine. They were negative. Nursing home conditions haven’t changed much. Seniors still comprise 40% of the fatalities but that’s changing to a younger demographic now.
        The only good news is that hospitals are getting better at saving people’s lives as they learn what treatments are working. And giving people Hydroxychloroquine isn’t one that worked.

Send in the children!
        And now the President along with his Evangelical Party supporters and the Republican Party are advocating sending the kids to the front lines with the teachers. It’s what they do. They could have spent all this time developing plans but instead spent the time lying and trying to cover up the effects of the pandemic. They have succeeded in making it even worse. There is still NO national plan.
        As a nation we are now not only worse off than when we started and we’re going downhill. Yet we have a President claiming that he’s saving lives while in the process of seeing to it that the virus claims even more lives.
        Premeditated murder on a national scale backed by conservatives every step of the way. Time for them to start killing kids.

New math

With knowledge comes understanding.

        I finally figured out what’s wrong. The Trump Administration is NOT to blame! They’ve been trying to use new math to figure out the government response and that’s why everything that they’ve done is screwed up. New. Math.

0 to 80 in 60 days.
        From the President that understood the Pandemic from the very beginning and having it completely under control and zero deaths before it disappeared we have a new latest and greatest prediction. Our very-stable-genius-greatest-sir-with-tears-in-our-eyes President adjusted his circlet and came up with yet another new prediction as to the number of deaths. He shooting for somewhere past 100,000 now.
        Well, I see his hundred and raise him fifty. The rates change almost daily now. New data changes models and predictions. And as Trump foretold in 2014 opening up the country too soon will cause “mayhem” or in our case Aughem. If the death rate holds we’ll have a quarter million people dead by the end of August.

But wait!
         Well, granted there wasn’t any mayhem in 2014 nor was there chaos. That epidemic was contained by President Obama just as previous epidemics were contained. They didn’t have the benefit of Sir President Donald J. Trump at their head. They did have his advice. He told them not to open up the country. I will give you that he wasn’t worried about getting elected then.

Saving lives!
        But as it turns out we’ve been looking at this from the wrong angle. On the bright side he’s now saying that we could have lost over two million people so once again he’s doing an incredible job, the best job in history. All of history. Not just part of it. All of it. Whole world of history. We should instead be grateful that he didn’t kill more people.

        He’ll be doing even better when he starts claiming that we could have lost 3 million people. That’s not exactly true. Technically he’s saying that he has already saved millions of live. Could be a couple of million. Could be many millions. Who’s to know? He knows. The greatest President in history. He may have saved the world. He also is the President with better ratings than President Abraham Lincoln. Hands down better ratings. He is the undisputed ratings winner.

        Obviously the Trump Administration has realized that the scientists are right and more people will die because they opened things up before they were even close to being ready. So they’re going to change the messaging from how many people they’ve killed to how many people that they’ve saved instead. It’s easier to make up those numbers. Don’t take responsibility for the additional deaths they’ve caused but rather take credit for the mythical lives saved. If you’re alive he has saved you. Lucky you.

Hodge podge.
        This is what happens when the national governing body is broken. This is what happens when you break every department of government and replace competent professionals with food-licking lackeys that haven’t the slightest idea of what they’re supposed to do and whose actual job it is to break the department.
        In a pandemic a coordinated national response is crucial. Leadership is needed. Not a self-aggrandizing King granting boons to those that have his favor. Each state responding differently has proven to be a recipe for disaster that we are watching unfold in real time.
        Now the price is being paid for in additional lives lost. The majority of lives lost will be seniors and people of color but additional people of every age are being lost as well. That’s just this time around. What will the next one be like? How will the incompetents respond next time? We know how.

They’ll blame others.
        IDK, does killing tens of thousands of additional people due to inaction rise to the level of being a mass murderer or is it just manslaughter on a grand scale? At least it’s comforting to know that no one is sadder than President Trump is over this. (Yes he really said that.) That’s why he brags about being so popular and is constantly telling people what a great job he’s doing. It’s because he’s so sad.

    He’s the saddest President in history.

 

COVID-19 in the White House

        The President and those around him have the best testing for COVID-19 that exists. The. Best. Results in 15 minutes or less test. The President claims 5 minutes. The White House doesn’t practice social distancing because everyone gets a test whether they want it or not. Evidently people don’t have the Constitutional right not to be tested. I haven’t seen armed staff storming the White House demanding not to wear masks so I’m guessing it’s still voluntary not to wear a mask.

        I know the President said the virus was a hoax but he sure isn’t treating it like one when it comes to keeping himself safe. Seriously, if it’s a hoax, what are he and those surrounding him being tested for on a daily basis?

Poetic.
        A valet to the President and an assistant to the Vice President have tested positive for COVID-19. The valet to President Trump came down with COVID-19 symptoms and tested positive. The assistant to the Vice President is asymptomatic. She is the wife of the White Nationalist that advises the President.
        I wonder if she knew the valet.
        We have seen the President, Vice President, and their staff on television claiming that people were safe around them even though they weren’t wearing masks. Everyone else around them had to wear a mask though when they ventured out. Nothing ventured. Nothing gained. Because masks protect people from the person wearing a mask. They were safe. Their staff was safe. Best testing available.

Yet
        The corona virus made it into the White House West Wing TWICE in the same week. ^ The President was upset. For himself. For his possible exposure (to a hoax!). Now mind you he isn’t so upset that he’ll wear a mask. That would only protect people from him. It’s going to take a lot more than him wearing a mask to protect us from him.
        No one gets to see the President without being tested! The Secret Service makes sure of that, He is protected. Those around him are protected. Yet a valet to the President came down with COVID-19. Just goes to show you. We haven’t heard about the Secret Service taking down any non-mask wearing people that cough or sneeze around the President. Yet.
        How many people that have been exposed do you reckon will be quarantined for 2 weeks to keep them from exposing others?
        How cool would it be to get COVID-19 from the President of the United States?!

COVID-19 in the work place.
        I would like to think that his highness might get a glimmering of understanding about people’s reticence to go back to work with ZERO safeguards among his very good supporters that don’t want to wear masks because the whole thing is a hoax. Without testing.
        After all even the numbers of death are a hoax. Before I finish writing this there will be a conspiracy theory about the valet from the very good people Nazis, White Supremacists, White Nationalists, Confederates, KKK, Anti-vaxxers, Militias, Conservative Evangelical, coughing food-licking whack jobs about this being another plot from Satan’s Liberals to undermine the President.
        How is that workplace going to look for the average worker in this country? What if they have a boss that thinks protections are unnecessary because they don’t believe the virus is serious? What if their co-workers are a bunch of food-lickers that think this whole thing is a scam?

Be best.
        Testing like what is available to the President does not exist in workplaces and contrary to what the President says widespread testing still isn’t available to the general public or work force and certainly not the 15 minute test they are using at the White House. He’s bragging about having so much PPE that he’s giving it to other countries and we still aren’t able to buy masks in this country! He has what is denied to others. Of course this isn’t a problem for him.
        Then we have all the workers that have to deal with the general public in their workplace. In the public is the same group of people that took their entire family to the store in the pandemic. The same group that believe they have the right to kill people. Because of the President and his Republican Jesters millions of people in this nation are treating the pandemic that we’re in as a big deal about a whole bunch of nothing.

Somebody please get Anthony Fauci a mask before they kill him! We need Anthony Fauci!
