Bring back the chaos vote

(3 minute read)

Bringing down the house

Okay, I know it sounds crazy like so much stuff about Trump does that turns out to be real, but Trump Republicans in the House of Representatives are openly talking about making Trump “Speaker of the House” if and/or when they take the majority back.  Yes, it’s true and yes, they’re serious.  It isn’t even far-fetched.  It’s a cult.  The members will back their Glorious Leader or be banished.

The Speaker does NOT have to be a member of Congress.[1]  Shocked?  I was.  Talk of making Trump the Speaker of the house isn’t new.  There has been an uptick in such talk since Trump Republicans have become confident that the midterms will give them control of the House and Senate once again.

Frankly it would put Trump in the catbird seat.[2]  Think about it.  Trump could head up impeaching Biden and forming committees to investigate every facet of government that he is at odds with including the FBI and DOJ.  Trump would dominate the media and preside over a three-ring circus until the 2024 election.  He wouldn’t even have to campaign.  (But he will, so he can solicit even more funds.)  Trump loves being worshipped, complaining about being the victim and threatening people.  He would also be throwing a serious monkey wrench into any court proceedings involving him.  Plus he likes conning people out of money.

It's not like he has a real job.

Get even

Okay, you can probably just skip the next paragraph because Trump Republicans have been individually[3] expressing their agenda every step of the way.[4]  Then they’ll walk it back and explain what they really meant.  McConnell said that they’ll announce their agenda AFTER they take back the Senate.  But McCarthy took a different approach with a “Commitment to America.”[5]

So far the Trump Republican agenda planned for after they attain control of Congress in the midterms is mainly exacting revenge.[6]  They want to investigate Hunter Biden, Fauci, Hillary Clinton, etc.  They want to impeach people out of their jobs.  They don’t like the FBI or the DOJ and will do their level best to cripple as many government agencies as they can.  And, they’re after Social Security and other “entitlement” programs.[7]  They’re opposed to the government negotiating lower drug prices for Medicare.  They want more guns on the streets because that’s what their Christian Rambo Orange Jesus wants.  Then they have important stuff to take care of like building Trump’s wall on the border.

I’m not even going to bother going on with the list of the ugliness that Trump Republicans are going to unleash against our Republic.  Just to sum it up they’re going to paralyze government and make life a lot harder for seniors and those with fewer economic resources.  Trump Republicans depend upon people with a lower standard of living and they need to keep them there.  That’s in the neighborhood of 40 million people living in poverty.[8]

They need that base.

Oh, you know what?  This is getting repetitious, isn’t it?  I’m just going to roll this up now and with my next post share some more life history information about myself and how that has influenced what I write and the perspective that I have.
