Trump lives like an uneducated poor man’s idea of being rich.
MAR A LAGO HILLBILLIES
Jess Piper recently did a post with the above picture at the top about hillbillies and Trump trashing the White House.[1]

I’ve written before about having hillbilly cousins in the Arkansas Ozarks that we visited in my teen years. They ran ‘shine and float trips.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE MAR A LAGOBILLIES
I can say with complete confidence that what is happening at the White House is indeed white trash culture.
I mean, Jesus Christ, Trump is building an MMA octagon at the White House! How Roman of him. Will Trump get to wear a golden laurel wreath crown as he watches? Will he get to give a thumbs up or down? Will his rich billionaire friends with their puffed-lip trophy wives be there?
Remember the original run of the TV show the “Beverly Hillbillies?”[2] Probably not unless you’re a Boomer. Yes, I’m that old.
It was about a poor family of Ozark hillbillies that struck it rich when oil was discovered on their land. They moved to a mansion in Beverly Hills California. It was a popular show. Buddy Ebsen as the Patriarch. Donna Douglas as bombshell Ellie Mae. Irene Ryan as the irascible Granny. Max Baer Jr. as the dimwitted Jethro. They were good decent downhome people.
The point of the show was their whole fish-out-of-water take on wealth and its trappings. They called the swimming pool that came with their mansion the cement (pronounced see-ment) pond.
They stayed hillbillies, and they never lost their decency.
CEMENT GARDEN
In a twisted complete flip as a nation, we ended up having a real life cross between the immoral characters of Breaking Bad and Mar a Lagobillies. Trump being there in the White House personifies Mar a Lago hillbillies/Lagobillies.
First Trump tore down the entire East Wing of the White House in order to build a giant ballroom, without getting anyone’s approval or having the money appropriated to pay for the now ever-escalating cost. Trump wants his MAGAt stooges in Congress to give him a BILLION DOLLARS. He wants the ballroom so he can put on the dog and have big “fancy” parties to impress whoever it is he feels the need to impress, with taxpayers footing the bill.
Trump has had his cement pond (The Reflecting Pool) drained and painted blue because apparently it didn’t look sufficiently like his idea of a pool. So far, the no bid contractor he hired has been 7 times more expensive, making inflated profit, is fucking up the work, and will need more money to finish![3] [4]
Trump has no class to go with his wealth. He doesn’t understand beauty. That’s why he paved over the rose garden. For Trump it’s the concrete that has value--not roses or history. Anything beautiful is a distraction from him. Unless it’s a naked woman like trophy wife Melania that he’s showing off to the public with “artistic” naked pics taken of her on his personal jet.
SILVER SPOON
Unlike the Beverly Hillbillies, Trump struck it rich by being born to Fred and Mary Trump.[5]
Daddy Fred made little Donald Trump a millionaire by age 8.[6] The same racist profiteer daddy that gifted him the family business of avoiding taxes. Not exactly the picture of a self-made man Trump would like people to think but rather a man-child born with a silver spoon in his mouth who was handed life on a platter and had to be bailed out regularly by his rich daddy. It’s a riches to riches story.
Trump’s idea of governing is that any person or entity that interacts with him should give him personally something valuable (transactional) whether it’s praise, money, or something shiny like a medal or a plane. In Trumplandia, Trump comes first. Trump never took the silver spoon of entitlement out of his mouth and has made this once thriving democracy into his personal, debauched playground.
Trump’s idea of good taste is gaudy, goldleaf, marble columns, lots of granite, and chandeliers. AND he wants tax dollars to pay for it.
Trump doesn’t discriminate when it comes to taking money.
He grifts rich and poor alike.
