Money talks,

Pic AI generated

(2-minute read)

Bullshit walks.

Money talks, bullshit walks.[1]  A proverb.[2]  Insert lies for walks and it’s a better fit.[3]

Is the help wearing rain suits at Mar a Lago?  There has got to be a lot of ketchup flying across the room.

It’s crunch time for the rapist Trump.  His bond of a half a billion dollars for the fraud civil suit is due Monday.  His lawyers filed a lengthy appeal saying that Trump does not have the money and has been unable to secure funding that is required.  They gave lots of excuses.  Trump promptly claimed in all caps that he has the money and that the people besting him are stupid.[4]

BTW Trump’s lawyers have already filed an appeal of the fraud sentence.  The bond is necessary if he wants to keep his properties from being seized in payment of the judgement, while awaiting the results of the appeal.  If he wins on appeal the money will be returned.

I think that Trump will come up with the bond money.  Why?  Frankly the man would sell his soul, if he had one, to hang onto his material possessions.  There are any number of bad actors that are in all probability considering doing that.  Imagine having a President ‘bought and paid for’ ‘in one’s back pocket.’[5] [6]  It’s also a possibility that a billionaire buddy that isn’t a Russian oligarch could put up the money.  Perhaps Jared and Ivanka could lend him some of the hundreds of millions that they made from their Trump connections made while he was in office.

The only difficulty of providing the cash will be technical.  Moving/transferring that amount of money will require some financial two-stepping designed to keep things ‘on the down low.’[7]  (I may have used one cliché too many.)  The money trail won’t necessarily reveal the real source of the funds.

There’s going to be lots of headlines this weekend about Trump’s getting the money.  Will he or won’t he?  He’s got the money![8]  He doesn’t got the money![9]  He’ll have the money soon![10]  Just a couple of more days!

Stay tuned!

Good Grief!

(2.5-minute read)

Night and Day

I  keep reading where independents are having a hard time choosing between President Biden and Trump.  Are you fucking kidding me?!  These two men could not be more unalike.  They are polar opposites.

On the one hand there’s …

Trump

“You know how you make America great again? Tell Donald Trump to go to hell. He’s a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot. He doesn’t represent my party. He doesn’t represent the values that the men and women who wear the uniform are fighting for. … He’s the ISIL man of the year.”

Senator Lindsey Graham

~

“The depths of his dishonesty is just astounding to me. The dishonesty, the transactional nature of every relationship, though it’s more pathetic than anything else. He is the most flawed person I have ever met in my life,”

Former White House chief of staff for Trump, retired Marine Gen. John Kelly[1]

~

“The fact of the matter is he is a consummate narcissist and he constantly engages in reckless conduct that puts his political followers at risk and the conservative and Republican agenda at risk. … He will always put his own interest and gratifying his own ego ahead of everything else, including the country’s interest. There’s no question about it. … He’s like a 9-year-old, a defiant 9-year-old kid, who’s always pushing the glass toward the edge of the table defying his parents to stop him from doing it.”

Attorney General under Trump, William Barr

~

The list of critical comments from men and women that worked for Trump during his Administration is too lengthy for me to waste your time by listing them all here.  Regarding the rapist Trump “moron” and “danger to democracy” are stand outs.  Especially when you consider that not only did he stage a coup, it’s ongoing.

Trump corrupts people.

~

And on the other hand there’s …

President Joe Biden

"If you can't admire Joe Biden as a person then probably you've got a problem, you need to do some self-evaluation.  As good a man God ever created.  And he’s the nicest person I think I've ever met in politics."[2]

Senator Lindsey Graham

~

President Biden has succeeded in passing legislation that benefits working Americans first, NOT the elite.  He has done this with a hostile House of Representatives and a no room for error Senate.  He has accomplished so many good things all around the country that MAGA Republicans are taking credit achievements they voted against.

I’m not going to fill up space with all the accolades that have been given to President Joe Biden throughout his lifetime of service in politics to the American public, both from fellow Americans and also from foreign leaders.  What Biden has done and continues to do is the job that he was elected to do.  He doesn’t spend his waking hours insulting, whining, posting, holding bragging press conferences and feeling sorry for himself.  President Biden puts in the work.

He gets things done.

The Republican Legacy

Pic AI generated

(2-minute read)

Legacy Republicans

Former Congresswoman Liz Cheney and her dad still haven’t figured out that their Republican Party is gone, gone, gone and it isn’t coming back.  It’s the MAGA Republican Party now and the only reason that “Republican” is still in the name is because of the amount of paperwork it would take to change the name.  Maybe when things settle down.

I refer to the Cheneys and those like them as legacy Republicans.[1]  They’re holdovers resisting the purge that is taking place in the MAGA Party and that they are powerless to stop.  Doesn’t matter.  They’ll still vote the ‘Party’ line.  It’s what they do.  In the 2020 presidential election there were enough legacy Republican voters that broke ranks and voted against the rapist Trump because of all the unnecessary deaths he caused during the pandemic to ensure his loss.  Many still voted for Trump enablers further down on the ballot around the country.  Like them, the Cheneys are still going to vote Republican.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) now has voted Nepo MAGA Laura Trump to its top spot.[2]  She is not in the least qualified for the position other than being a part of the Trump family and loyal to Trump.  I mean seriously, even she should know that she has zero qualifications for the job.  After the RNC dumped previous chair Rona McDaniel another 60 legacy Republicans were also purged for not being sufficiently loyal to Dear Leader.  Legacy Republicans are being purged all over the country.

Sieg MAGA!

Making MAGA

A legacy is defined as “the long-lasting impact of particular events, action, etc. that took place in the past.”  Trump is the Republicans’ legacy.  He is where the Republican Party, Evangelicals and White Christian Nationalists have been headed for decades as they fueled one conspiracy after another and became a disinformation machine devoid of honesty, honor and integrity.  It is now the party that racists and bigots can support.  Then along came Trump.  And if hadn’t been Trump it would have been another one just like him or worse.

For all of her current blow in media Liz Cheney is one of the many Trump enablers.  She supported the rapist Trump’s policies and actions 93% of the time with her votes.[3]  Same for her daddy, who set some dishonesty records all his own when he was Vice President.  So as they go about the country now telling people what a danger the rapist Trump is to democracy they need to remember one thing if nothing else.

They set the stage.

Second coming.

Apologists like Liz and Dick Cheney, Mike Pence and other Republicans having their come-to-Jesus moments nevertheless have yet to take actual responsibility for their own words and actions that led to Trump’s election in 2016 and the attempted coup of January 6, 2021.

That’s their real legacy.
