Ironicmoronism (Think Oxy)

The LivingYears

I can’t help but wonder how much farther along the human race in general would be if it weren’t carrying around this huge weight of ignorance every generation. I know that we need them to keep us grounded and to serve as wonderful reminders of the wide diversity of the human race but DAMN sometimes!

You can’t make this stuff up. There are a lot of memes going on social media concerning Republican Representative Elsie Stefanik using her words. Like the majority of Conservative Republicans she just uses buzzwords regardless of their meaning or using them correctly. It is the stupid genius of Republicans when it comes to understanding their core base of supporters. We’re talking 30 to 40 million people here, probably more.

            Republican Representative Elsie Stefanik

"Today's Anniversary of Medicare [and] Medicaid reminds us to reflect on the critical role these programs have played to protect the healthcare of millions of families. To safeguard our future, we must reject Socialist healthcare schemes."

            Ronald Reagan circa 1961:

“If you don’t, this program I promise you, will pass just as surely as the sun will come up tomorrow and behind it will come other federal programs that will invade every area of freedom as we have known it in this country until one day as Normal Thomas said we will wake to find that we have socialism, and if you don’t do this and I don’t do this, one of these days we are going to spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children, what it once was like in America when men were free.

We’re agin it!

For those that may not know the AMA, Republicans and Conservatives in general opposed the passing of Medicare. Despite that, the vast majority of retired Republicans and everyone else retired for that matter is on and benefits from Medicare. And don’t forget Social Security. Oh my no! The anti-socialism Republicans also want their Social Security and want the guv’mint to leave it alone too!

We’re for it!

Got it!

Socialism is bad except when it’s good. That isn’t complicated at all.

The Republican definition of socialism that if it’s something good for working people they are opposed to it unless it turns out that people really like it then they are in support of it except for the time when they opposed it but the next bad thing for their core group to hate is socialist unless years pass and their core support mistakenly likes it or it’s socialism for the rich and that’s the kind of socialism they can really get behind except they’ll call it some nice better word.

Clear?
