Why did Trump lose?

            I have read any number of analysts giving reasons for Trump losing the election. Had Republicans done worse in down ballot elections the loss would be easier to explain. But they didn’t. Republicans, Georgia notwithstanding, didn’t do too badly. Trump would lose, yet Republicans on the same ballot would win. (This is one of the many truisms that makes the accusations of voter fraud so ridiculous.) Republicans achieved a record turnout, it just wasn’t as big as the Democratic turnout. Eighty one million to seventy four million.

NOTE:  For the election deniers struggling with math. 81 is a bigger number than 74. 306 is a bigger number than 232. See how that goes?

The Liar lied

            Try saying that 3 times real fast.

            Anyway, for months I have been reading comments from family members blaming Trump for their loved one(s) dying because they believed Trump’s comments about the virus. They believed Trump when he said that it was a hoax. They believed him when he said that they didn’t need to mask. They believed him when he said it would go away.

They died.

            The numbers of dead MAGA people were small in the beginning but as the pandemic progressed the numbers continued to rise. High profile MAGA supporters caught it and died. Trump caught it. Then he lied some more and more people died. He held super spreader events. People died. They weren’t blaming Trump’s seditious MAGA Republican enablers along with Trump. They should have. But they didn’t.

They blamed Trump.

            Trump killed a few too many people and it cost him the vote.

            All in the world that he had to do was treat the virus seriously rather than lie about it and he would have been not only reelected but been a hero as well. Instead he put money before people. That ended up making the economy worse and resulted in a couple of hundred thousand needless deaths. So, hero or goat. Trump ended up having mashed potatoes on his head and being….

Election fraud discovered!

 

Lawyers R Us.

            Trump’s band of gas-bag lawyers have turned up election fraud. They were standing in a circular firing squad at the time of their discovery: the only fraud belongs to them. They were trying to overturn a legal election where there was NO widespread fraud other than theirs in trying to reverse the vote of “We the People”. Those words are enshrined in the Constitution for a reason.

            Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) even asked the United States Supreme Court to overturn Biden’s wins in the swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia. Just the swing states that Trump lost, mind you.

            Republicans took their assault all the way to the United States Supreme Court (USSC) where Trump expected to have his Supremes install him as President. After all, they are HIS Supremes.

They didn’t.

Coup attempt

            On one side the United States of America, the world’s oldest constitutional democracy. On the other—the country and denizens of Trumplandia where the incredible powers of gullibility along with obliviousness have been harnessed. That and the recycled intestinal gas from the leaking lawyers that can’t file straight.

            What does need to be treated seriously is that the President of the United States tried to overthrow the vote of the people and had the almost complete support of the Republican Party congressional representatives who are too afraid to speak out about the Commander in Tyrant because they’re afraid that his racist violent supporters won’t vote for them next time.

            In addition to actively trying to get Republican state legislatures to “fix” the vote, Trump, along with his supporters, encouraged violence against not only Congress but against state governments as well. His supporters in Congress also voted to overturn the Electoral College vote. Other Trump supporters encourage seceding from the United States. This, in addition to their attack on the Capitol, is also known as sedition.

            In simple terms, Trump tried to overthrow and take over the government through extra legal means as well as through violent actions taken against Representatives, Senators and their support staff, including police. In other countries we call actions like that an attempted coup. We just haven’t seen one here before this country.

            Trump and his entourage encouraged violence and armed Trump supporters turned up. The MAGA insurrectionists also turned up at the homes of officials that stood up to Trump by doing their jobs and upholding a legal vote of “We the People.” But as it turns outs.

It was a hoax.

Shock Day

Name change.

            We may have to come with a new name or some different names when we refer to this November 3^rd. What happens is going to be shocking to and for a LOT of people of every party and persuasion. People around the globe will be shocked as well. Perhaps astounded is a better word. Shock? Awe? I’m kinda sorry that Day of the Dead is already taken. Maybe not. It’s going to be quite the day. It’s going to be a long day but a movie already used the title up for that one. It all comes down to being….

Time to finish up.

New ball game

            The pandemic has turned things inside out and upside down in regards to what will happen on shock day. Record breaking early voting. Record breaking mail in ballots. Record breaking absentee ballots. Record breaking lawsuits by Republicans. Hundreds of thousands of ballots stacked up at USPS mail processing centers. (Done on purpose by Trump.) Did they get delivered in time? All of this taking place in a system not designed for this kind of voting. Some states will be counting votes for weeks.

            While it seems to be generally accepted by real world residents that President Trump will lose the popular vote AGAIN, what will happen in the Electoral College is another matter entirely.

A beginning, an ending and a continuing

            Really the kind of day that Tuesday will be can apply to either candidate or their respective followers. It’s one thing to expect a certain outcome and quite another to live it. The day is rife with potential along with the fog of not knowing for sure what’s happening and the chaos that we have come to expect the day to have.

            In general, election forecasters indicate that early results are NOT necessarily an indicator of what is taking place as to who is winning and who is losing. While statistics as to probability aren’t provided it’s the sheer weight of mail in ballots that provide a limitation as to how fast they can be tallied.

            Republicans already have something in the neighborhood of 300 lawsuits to suppress votes from Democrats and toss mailed in ballots. Any kind of mailed in ballot. Except for Florida. Trump wants mailed in ballots there. Trump’s Supremes will back him as much as they can justify.

            Apparently it even looks like to Republican leadership, and I use that term loosely, that they’re going to lose the popular vote AGAIN so they’re going to try using the courts to steal the election with the Electoral College.

            If it looks like Trump is losing Fox Pravda viewers aren’t going to know it. Remember their election night reporting with President Obama? That’s when Kelly went down to their election war room and asked them directly why they couldn’t or wouldn’t call it. Fox Pravda hasn’t gotten better since then.

Even if the results aren’t known it’s going to be quite a day.

An aside.

            BTW, Kavanaugh got called out on an incorrect citation in his opinion. He gave a citation that was the opposite of what he decided. Sloppy work has been a hallmark of the Trump Administration. Statements issued with misspellings and/or bad grammar. Trump regularly uses the worng words (Did that on purpose.) like hydrosonic instead of hypersonic. It’s not that big a deal except he claims that he’s a genius, uses nothing but the best words and appoints the best people.

            President Trump is so impressed with his candidacy that he invested ZERO dollars of his own money in his campaign. ZERO dollars. He used all rube money according to the FEC filings made to date. A billionaire that wouldn’t invest in himself.

He obviously knows a bad investment.

Forecast

            Trump will continue tweeting that he has already won and that mailed in ballots are bad. If he loses, look for him to immediately claim that the election was stolen. Also look for him to be doing a lot of rage tweeting and inciting like he usually does, but at much higher levels. I believe that it’s quite possible that he will attain a personal best in the number of tweets.

            It will not be surprising if it takes a couple of days to have a pretty good idea of who the winner of the election will be. The critical state seems to be Pennsylvania. If Trump wins Pennsylvania then his chances of getting reelected go way up. There are numerous other possibilities for a path to moving vans being involved.

Monkey in the machine.

            Trump, his cronies, the Iranians, the Chinese Government the Republican Party, and his Russian handlers along with his cult followers have done their level best to screw up this election. This coming Tuesday, November 3rd we’ll all find out how successful they have been. Trump has maintained all along that the election should be decided on November third without counting all of the people’s votes. He believes that early returns will show him leading. He may very well be right.

That’s not the way it works.

Votes decide the election.

            All the people’s votes are supposed to be counted or at least as many as is possible before the Supreme Court decides who the President will be. That’s only happened once and the guy that they declared the winner ended up losing the vote when all was said and done. BUT he still got to be President.
