Air kiss

I decided to take one for the team, aka Resistance, and watched the entire inauguration so you wouldn’t have to. It was everything I expected and less. So much more less.

First of all kudos to Melania for dressing like she’s going to a funeral. Very appropriate. She kept her wide brimmed black hat with a white stripe right above the brim so low her eyes were barely visible at times. I mean it looked like her ears were holding that hat up or it would have been even lower. It’s possible they were tucked underneath the hatband. Hard to tell. Very demure. Probably something haute couture like her fine art oiled-up nude pictures with another woman that were shown on Russian state TV. I would show them here but other social media platforms have rules about pornography violating community standards even if it’s called fine art.

You know I really do pack a lot into a paragraph.

Anyway, when Trump goes to kiss her, he can’t get to her because of the wide ass hat brim that has the same shape of a Pizza Hut roof logo. (Yes, I’ve seen the meme.) She avoided kissing him on national media right in front of God and everybody. I’m going to hazard the guess here that isn’t all she avoids. And now everybody will be talking about it for the next four years. She managed to make herself the center of attention even if for a brief moment during Trump’s momentous day and at his expense. Like Trump she’s savvy when it comes to marketing. Melania knows exactly what she’s doing. And I believe that the woman is as petty as he is.

It was a major asshole move though for a wife to pull on her husband on his special day in America. In a recent follow up Melania kissed California Gov. Gavin Newsom when he met their plane when it landed in California.[1] The exchange took place behind Trump’s back. Trump went to look at the carnage.

I do kind of understand her predicament though. No one can ever love Trump as much as he loves himself so her competition is pretty stiff. He would kiss himself in the face if he could.

But still.

The thing about being the First Lady is that it’s work. Not as much work as the President is supposed to be doing but more work than she’s used to not doing just the same. Being First Lady interrupts her spa and leisure time. Besides, living in the White House is a step down for her. After all she has her next grift to plan on the ever-gullible MAGA supporters. These people were born to be victimized.

Of course her husband the President kind of sets the example for not working or understanding what his job is. Like the first time as President he’s up late into the night poring over ratings, news coverage, perceived slights both real and surreal. Then he sleeps in late, gets up, hurls insults at some people, and then whines. Frankly it’s no wonder Melania avoids him as much as possible when he’s around.

Melania can always get back in his good graces. Perhaps she could do another fine art photo shoot in the White House or on Air Force One Like she did for him on his plane for GQ magazine before he became President. She might be 54 years old but I’ll bet she still looks good naked on fur.

She takes good care of herself.

Typical inauguration stuff.

            I know that it has been a few days but let’s get into that inauguration! What a day! What a cold ass day for America.

            Trump was backstopped by his coterie of billionaires seated in their place of honor as he gave his speech. How many billionaire oligarchs was that anyway? Too many to fit on the head of a pin.

BTW I’ve enjoyed the pictures and video of Zuckerberg checking out Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez’s hooters.[2] Granted she’s a healthy woman. BUT Zuckerberg’s wife was with him. He may have some splainin’ to do.

Some of Trump’s other special guests were only worth a few hundred million. They were in the cheaper seats. MAGA supporters didn’t even warrant the cheap seats. They had to stand out in the cold. It’s a shame that they didn’t even get to press their faces up against the window. Now that would have been picture perfect. Well, except the last time they did that they broke in the windows and doors and ransacked the building. Beat up some cops too. Not to worry. Trump pardoned ALL of them.

            Somewhere in all of the inauguration festivities President Musk gave a shout out to all the Nazis and wanna’ be Christian Nationalist Nazis by doing a couple of stiff-armed Nazi salutes.[3] The right-wing immediately rose to his defense and claimed it was really a Roman salute. The Romans had nothing to do with it.[4] Fascists created the salute and use it to this very day.

As for the inauguration it was more of Trump’s campaign shtick and non-stop lying.[5] I’m surprised that he isn’t in the Guiness Book of World records for uttering the most lies per minute of any politician anywhere.[6] If telling lies was a breeze …

Trump would be a cyclone.[7]

AMERICA! LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!

Some of the highlies and low lights of Trump’s low energy sad sack campaign inauguration speech. (In no particular order)

·        Right after swearing to uphold our Constitution Trump downholded it with a slew of Executive Orders including doing away with the 14th Amendment.[8]

·        Trump trashed America as being some sort of dystopian hellscape. Yet somehow we’re still the greatest nation. Go figure.

·        Trashed our allies’ governments.

·        Trashed our educational system.

·        Trashed immigrants as being criminals and then pardoned 1500 criminal coconspirators of his and unleashed them back on society. Some of them being quite crazy.

·        Doesn’t seem to grasp that getting less than 50% of the vote isn’t a landslide.

·        He insulted those that he usually insults.

·        Claimed that he was saved by God to make America great again. (Be on the lookout for another pandemic.)

·        Claimed China was in charge of the canal. They aren’t.

·        Whined about how he has been treated. He’s not in jail is he.

·        Threatened war against Panama, one of our allies, while claiming that he would stop all wars.

You know …

The usual inauguration stuff.

Morality doesn’t matter.

I do want to say that it’s a given that the majority of Trump’s cabinet picks will be accepted regardless of their qualifications and personal character faults. Honestly, if they accepted Hegseth they’ll accept anyone.
