Big ‘ol Yup Post

(3 minute read)

That didn’t take long.

I thought that I had already posted this but it’s still timely.  I’ll make it a grab bag and throw in a couple of more comments about my take on what’s going on in the world.

Well, I said in my last post that it wouldn’t take long for Trump Republicans to vote against hurricane Ian relief and sure enough they have already done it.  So here’s the “big ‘ol yup post” that I said I would do.  Florida Senators Scott and Rubio voted against hurricane relief and the very next day requested hurricane relief.[i]  Technically Rubio didn’t vote against it.  He didn’t vote at all.  Twenty-five other Republican Senators voted against it.  Florida House member Matt Gaetz along with other Republicans also voted against the funding (Sep 30).[ii]  It was a twofer for Republicans voting no for the stop gap funding because aid for Ukraine was also in the funding.

As soon as the midterms are over Trump Republicans can come back out of the closet and revert back to their original agenda.

Being rubber stamps for their fascist agenda.

STOP THE PRESSES!

Well, in truth there aren’t any presses to stop but it really sounds cool to say that.  When the print industry ruled that would be done at certain times when a major event took place

Trumps’ lawyers appealed to Supreme Clarence Thomas to overturn the 11th Circuit decision regarding the Mar a Lago documents that Trump stole.[iii]  You know Supreme Thomas the husband of Ginni Thomas, the woman involved in the attempted coup to overturn the Presidential election.  The Supreme that wanted all the Supremes to get involved with overturning the election.  Supreme Thomas gave the Department of Justice (DOJ) a week to respond. (Oct 11)

Courts keep asking Trump to submit evidence.  That gets him all bent out of shape since he doesn’t have any.  I take that back.  He does have evidence, but it doesn’t make him look good especially since the DOJ is now looking into the possibility that he may have rat-holed classified information at other locations.[iv]

BTW, you know who never invoked the 5th Amendment?

Hillary Clinton.

And then

A section of the bridge in Crimea blew up.[v]  Have you watched the video?  Now Russians are all in a snit because the country they invaded blew up a piece of their bridge.  In retaliation they attacked some more civilians in Ukraine.

The war that Putin/Russia started is not going well for them.

Not going well at all.

Speaking of Russians

Recent polling still shows Trump Republicans seeking office are likely to take back control of the House of Representatives.[vi]  The majority of Trump Republicans seeking office are election deniers and 173 of those are in what’s called safe seats.[vii]  (148 are House seats.) In other words, they’re going to be voted into office.  Thirty-three are in competitive races.

Democrats are slightly favored to maintain control of the Senate.  So the Senate could go either way and they will remain dominated by Trump Republican rubber stamps.

In other words we’re looking at a congress that is either partially controlled or completely controlled by men and women that don’t believe in our form of government.  So, authoritarians, another word for fascists, are close to being in charge of our government.  If they take control of the house and Senate they’ll impeach President Biden out of office.

I wish this was hyperbole.
