Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson says that we need to maintain discipline during the pandemic.
He along with his wife and 2 small daughters contracted Covid-19 from socializing with their friends. Their friends were positive with SARS-CoV-2. (That’s the actual name of the virus that I refer to as the Trump Virus since he totally screwed up the response of this entire country.)
Back to Dwayne.
He along with his wife had a rough time with the virus and he meant rough time. Fortunately his 2 daughters just had a little difficulty and so far nothing lasting.
After recovering he made a video. I just finished watching it.
Now I’m sitting on the front porch, drinking coffee, petting the dog, writing these thoughts down and reevaluating our plans for the day.

From now on before Dwayne invites friend over they’ll have to be tested the day before and not test positive! If they test positive they can’t come over! That’s it!
We were planning on having our cousin over for dinner but now I’m not so sure. Perhaps we should have her go test first. Hm. That’s going to pose a problem. There isn’t anywhere around here, even though Covid-19 is spiraling upwards, to get a test let alone get results back in less than a day.
I guess we’ll have to scratch that idea and stick with our original plan of eating on the porch with fans blowing and maintain our physical distance from one another. Then after we eat and finish our beer go back to wearing masks. (We do hold hands when we say grace. We use hand sanitizer before and after. Then we eat like we just discovered food.)
Boost healthy
Dwayne said that we should be sure and take supplements to boost our immune system. Well, we lucked out in that regard. We do have multi-vitamins and fish oil on hand. I don’t know if those are some of the same supplements that he’s talking about. I suspect that we don’t run in similar circles. At all. He is super healthy and that certainly didn’t hurt.
The rest of us can at least try and eat right. Emphasis on try. I think about eating healthy all the time. It’s the follow through that throws me.

Wear a mask. The Rock says too. The Rock knows.
It is indeed wonderful that he uses his celebrity for good and to reach people. At the time I watched his video had been viewed ten million times because he is the Rock.
Now we know someone.
As I have said previously the time will come when we all will know a friend or family that has had Covid-19. Now Shelley and I know someone. They are a friend and from around here. They got over it. Being of a certain age that’s real good news. We had not been around her when she had it so we missed exposure.
Deaths will reach 200,000 soon. The predictions are now for twice that by the end of the year. This is mainly due to Trump devotees not wearing masks, limiting their activities or following safe practices at all. Labor Day weekend is here so there will be additional spread just like there was with the Sturgis Bikers. Then they’ll take the Trump Virus back home.
The Spanish Flu redone
Thanks to Trump, the Republican Party, Evangelicals, White Supremacists and all their followers we may now exceed the number of fatalities incurred during the Spanish Flu. Another victory for them to celebrate. After all ….
