Testing out.
For a long time my cup ranneth over with cognition.[1] I had so much cognition that I couldn’t use it all. It didn’t seem right for me to have so much when others had so little so I got rid of the excess. Being a man of a certain age I took some cognition tests to make sure that I didn’t get rid of too much so I have some personal experience with cognition tests.[2]
For openers, cognitive tests are NOT tests of intelligence. Trump has been saying for years now that the cognitive test that he took shows that he’s brilliant. Making that claim does demonstrate either his ignorance or how ignorant he thinks his followers are. There is a third alternative.
Trump brags about the school he went to but not his grades. Why is that do you suppose? Trump knows what his grades were. Why doesn’t he share the records of his brilliance with the world? It isn’t like the man hesitates to brag about himself. I mean, he doesn’t even lie about his grades. He could be telling people that he got straight Bs.
What’s up with that?
Trump’s IQ
Intelligence Quotient (IQ) tests are one tool used to measure intelligence.[3] I also have familiarity with IQ tests. (I passed!) If he wants to brag about his genius, he should take some IQ tests. He wouldn’t even have to study.
Keep in mind that there is controversy regarding the accuracy of IQ tests and that they are not definitive when it comes to measuring intelligence. At one time various governments used IQ test results to force the sterilization of individuals deemed inappropriate for continuing their contribution to the genetic pool.
In other words more “poisoning the blood” shit.
Pounding the old drum.
MAGA Trumper Nikki Haley, aka Nimarata for MAGA followers, is really doubling down on Trump being too old to be President. Trump is 77.[4] President Biden is 81.[5] Haley wasn’t as concerned with how old Trump was when he was elected President in 2016, when he was the oldest man to be elected to the office. She endorsed him. What a difference a few years and wanting the office yourself makes.
Haley thinks that Trump has dementia. MAGA thinks Biden has dementia. Haley thinks old people in Congress have dementia. There’s just a whole lotta dementia going on. Hell, I think it’s likely there’s dementia in government. There is a decidedly older population in Congress. I covered that here.
The concern about senior politicians having dementia is not new.[6] The late Senator Feinstein is an example of someone with symptoms of dementia serving in Congress. We do have a lot of oldsters in government. As for Presidents, I think that President Reagan had dementia while in office.[7] He wasn’t diagnosed with dementia until after he left office.
There’s going to be a lot of talk about old people having dementia or just having a mental decline that can be associated with age. Mind you, Haley still wants oldsters to vote for her since we’re a huge voting block. She trusts our mental capabilities that much. I’m going to hazard a wild guess that she wants people to vote for all the senior MAGA Republicans whose votes she’ll need when she becomes President.
What if it turns out being too old or having dementia isn’t Trump’s problem?
Maybe Trump’s just stupid.
